Terms of Use
Seacoast National Bank (“Seacoast” or “the Bank”) has developed the Terms of Use (“Terms”) to guide in the community’s (“visitors and followers” of Seacoast social media sites) utilization of social media. The goal is to ensure individuals connecting with Seacoast on third party social media sites such as, but not limited to Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn (“social media sites”) or review sites like Google, Yelp, etc. achieve the greatest possible benefit from utilizing social media in a respectful, relevant way.
These Terms govern social media sites that belong to or are managed by Seacoast. Please review these Terms carefully. By accessing Seacoast social media sites, you agree to be bound by these Terms, all applicable laws and regulations, and any other applicable policies, terms and guidelines established by Seacoast, and any third parties that host Seacoast social media sites Seacoast expressly reserves the right to make any changes to these Terms, or to the Bank’s social media sites and any content on them at any time.
Use of Social Media Sites
Seacoast social media sites are intended to share relevant and helpful information about Seacoast services and products, and what the Bank is doing in the communities Seacoast serves.
The information and content provided are intended for informational purposes only, not as an offer to sell or the solicitation for the purchase of Seacoast stocks, or any other issuer or company.
Seacoast does not guarantee a reply to every post or comment but will make every effort to respond to relevant posts or comments in a timely manner.
Seacoast encourages the Bank’s community to be truthful, professional, positive, and transparent. You agree that your activities on Seacoast social media sites will not violate any applicable law, regulation, or terms of any existing agreements you may have with Seacoast. Any unauthorized use of Seacoast social media sites or misuse of any information posted to a social media site is strictly prohibited.
Removal of Posts, Comments or Content
Seacoast reserves the right to moderate and, without notice, delete, edit or block any content on Seacoast social media sites if it violates the platform’s terms of use or the law or if it is abusive, obscene, inflammatory, culturally, racially or socially insensitive, hateful or inappropriate, or that contains pornography, nudity, prostitution, or other adult content, unauthorized and/or unsolicited advertising, spam, or hyperlinks, viruses, spyware, malware, or other malicious components that are designed to harm the functionality of a computer in any way. Specifically, Seacoast reserves the right to delete any content that is deemed:
- Personal attacks, threats or harassment of any individual, entity or organization including Seacoast and its employees
- Inaccurate, false, libelous, or misleading in any way
- Pornographic, indecent, sexually explicit, or profane material including characters, symbols, initials and intentional misspellings that suggest profanity
- Encouragement or conduct of illegal activity
- Selling a product or service, or posted to drive traffic to a particular website for monetary, political, or personal gain
- Discriminatory or hateful speech regarding gender, race, age, nationality, religion, disability, or sexual orientation
- Personal, confidential, or identifying information or private account-related issues, including but not limited to, bank account information and social security number
- Infringement of copyright, patent, trade secret, trademark, or intellectual property rights
Employees and third parties are not allowed to share information that is confidential and proprietary about Seacoast or Seacoast customers, unless an authorized representative gives prior written approval. Examples of confidential and proprietary information include, but are not limited to, information about upcoming product releases, sales, finances, number of products sold, number of employees, account numbers, personal phone numbers, personal addresses, strategy, and any other information that has not been publicly released by Seacoast. Seacoast reserves the right to remove any posting of this kind at any time for any reason without notice or explanation.
In certain instances, at the sole discretion of Seacoast, the Bank may, without notice, suspend, terminate, or block community members of Seacoast social media sites who violate these terms.
Disclaimer
Seacoast is not responsible for any content posted by users, including posts made by employees or agents who are not authorized administrators of Seacoast social media sites. Content posted by others is not edited by Seacoast and does not represent the views or positions of the Bank.
Third-Party Links
Seacoast has not reviewed all of the third-party sites linked to its sites and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any third-party link does not imply endorsement by Seacoast. Use of any such linked web site is at the user's own risk. You understand that when going to a third-party web site, that site is governed by the third party's privacy policy and terms of use, and the third party is solely responsible for the content and offerings presented on its website.
Personal Information
Seacoast social media sites are owned by third parties that are unaffiliated with Seacoast. Seacoast is not responsible for the security or privacy policies of these sites or other third-party sites that may be linked to or from within them.
With respect to content collected through Seacoast social media sites, the Bank follows the applicable privacy policies of the third-party hosts of Seacoast social media sites. Note that, when visiting any Seacoast social media site, you are also subject to the terms and conditions of Seacoast’s Privacy Policy as well as the terms of service and privacy policies of third-party hosts.
Seacoast will never contact you to request personal information by posting them to social media sites or by sharing them via email, phone, or text communication, including account numbers, online bank account username and passwords, personal identification information such as social security number or date of birth, or any other confidential customer information. In addition, do not post any personal, private, or confidential information about others that has not been voluntarily made available by them in a public post, or for which you do not have their permission to post, or that could otherwise be viewed as an invasion of their privacy.
Seacoast will never disclose, or ask you to disclose non-public, personally identifying information through the Bank’s social media sites. If there is a need for such information, Seacoast will provide alternative communication methods.
Any customer service inquiry that refers to a business or personal account, or that is related to an urgent, sensitive, or confidential matter, should be addressed using other customer service channels, including:
- Seacoast customer service toll-free number at Customer Service – 800.709.9991;
- Seacoast Online Banking service; or
- Visiting any Seacoast Banking Centers for additional information
Children's Privacy
Any website designed for kids or is geared to a general audience and collects information from someone they know is under the age of 13 must comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and other social media sites employ age restrictions within their sign-up process as well as within their user agreements, terms of use, etc., requiring users to be 13 or older. Seacoast’s social media efforts will not target or be aimed at children under the age of 13. Seacoast will not engage in the collection of personal information of children under the age of 13 via the Bank’s social media program. In addition, Seacoast will follow the COPPA rules for handling the child’s information. Seacoast maintains the confidentiality of all Nonpublic Personal Information (“NPI”) collected, no matter the person’s age.
Employees
Seacoast does not endorse content that is not from authorized Seacoast representatives or not previously approved by Seacoast. If you are a Seacoast employee, please disclose your employment so that the Bank may ensure the Seacoast community is aware of any material connection you may have to the Bank.
Content Rights
By publishing or submitting any materials to any social media or review site including, but not limited to, comments, messages, reviews, photos, videos or questions, you automatically grant Seacoast and its affiliates a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully-paid unconditional right and license to (i) make, have made, use, copy, reproduce, modify and create derivative works of your submissions, (ii) display, import, broadcast, transmit, distribute (directly and indirectly through multiple tiers), license, sell, rent, lease or lend copies of your submissions and derivative works thereof and (iii) to sublicense to third parties the preceding rights including the right to sublicense to further third parties. Additionally, you consent to the use of your name, statements, photographs, videos, voice recordings, and likenesses for publicity purposes, as well as any other purpose associated with Seacoast social media sites and agree that the granting of such consent is without restrictions, compensation, or additional permissions of any kind.
Copyright
By submitting content to Seacoast social media sites, you warrant and represent that you own the copyright of the content or have been granted permission by the copyright owner to use the content consistent with the manner and purpose of your use.
If you believe Seacoast’s social media content infringes on your copyrights, send Seacoast a notice requesting removal of material or block access to it. Refer to the Copyright Office website for details on notices and counter-notices: www.copyright.gov.
Indemnification
In no event shall Seacoast, its affiliates or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on Seacoast’s social media sites, even if Seacoast has been notified of the possibility of such damage. Seacoast will not be responsible in any way for loss or damage that results from your failure to comply with these terms or other applicable guidelines, or from any technical, human or software errors or failures found within Seacoast social media sites. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Seacoast, its parent, subsidiaries, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability with respect to any claims from any third parties arising from your use of Seacoast social media sites or violation of these terms or applicable guidelines.
Modification or Termination
Seacoast may modify the features, content and functionality of its social media sites, or terminate entirely any of its social media sites, at any time without prior notice or liability to you.
Seacoast may revise these Terms of Use for its social media sites at any time without notice. By using Seacoast social media sites you agree to be bound by the then-current version of these Terms of Use. Any modifications to these Terms shall be effective as of the date posted.
